Twinkle Club

TWINKLE CLUB

Vijay Phanshikar, editor of The Hitavada, who was instrumental in launching the Twinkle Star magazine, foresaw the possibility of tapping the talent of children of Nagpur. The  kids in the Orange city were bereft of a common area where they could gather, interact with each other, share their views and showcase their talent. All that they needed was a platform. Thus, came up the Twinkle Club, which was officially launched in 1989 with 500 members that year.

The Hitavada's Twinkle Club is an extension to the Twinkle Star magazine, and enjoys the honour of featuring in the Limca Book of Records as the largest children's club, with over 35,000 members between the age group of 5-15yrs. The brand enjoys long standing patronage from its members belonging to middle class, upper-middleclass and affluent families from regions in and around Nagpur, Bhilai, Amravati and Chandrapur

Every year, the annual membership drive takes place in the first week of July. After paying a nominal amount as fee, the children get a membership card, a bag full of goodies as well as discounts at various outlets/entertainment venues throughout the year. The Club holds educational and entertainment programmes like mela (Fete) , movies, competitions, picnic, adventure camps etc. through out the year for its members. And as they have fun, they also learn.
